2004 Kangarilla Road Fleurieu Zinfandel
This is a mysterious grape variety, calling USA home since 1822 when a Long Island nurseryman imported cuttings from Europe. For a while it was known as "Black St. Peters" and sold as a table grape variety.
To this day the origins of the naming of Zinfandel remain unknown. In a quest to find its real identity, researchersdiscovered the Italian variety Primivitoto be identical, but Italy is not Zinfandel's home. It wasn't until late 2001 that scientists agreed that Croatia was the historical origins of Zinfandel.
This is our second regionally blended Zinfandel with grapes sourced from low yeilding vineyards located on the Fleurieu Penninsula in the regions of McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and Southern Fleurieu.
